Sahel F1 is an indeterminate hybrid tomato, meaning its vines continue growing, flowering and producing fruits throughout favorable conditions.
The plants are vigorous and develop uniform red tomatoes with smooth, attractive skin and useful firmness.
Because the vines continue extending, Sahel F1 requires reliable staking or trellis support and can provide an extended harvesting period with proper crop management.
Exact fruit size, plant height, maturity period and final yield can vary according to growing conditions.
Sahel F1 tomatoes are suitable for:
G-12 Grow Bag – 12 × 12 inch 🔗
Suitable for one plant with regular nutrition, watering and support.
G-24 Grow Bag – 24 × 12 inch 🔗
Suitable for approximately two plants with adequate spacing and strong trellis support.
Indeterminate tomatoes benefit from larger root volume because plants continue growing and fruiting over an extended period.
Use fertile, loose and well-drained soil rich in organic matter.
A practical GREEN GARDENS mix can be:
50% Bhalu Mitti (Sandy Soil) + 50% Vermicompost 🔗
Maintain consistent moisture while ensuring good drainage.
Sow seeds approximately:
0.5 cm deep
Cover lightly with fine growing medium.
Start seeds in nursery trays, seedling cells or small pots.
Keep the growing medium lightly moist.
Seeds generally germinate within:
6–10 days
under suitable warm conditions.
After germination, provide bright light.
Established plants generally require:
6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily
Good sunlight supports vigorous growth, flowering and fruit development.
Transplant seedlings when they are approximately:
5–6 inches tall
or around 25–30 days old, provided they are healthy and well established.
Water immediately after transplanting.
Maintain approximately:
45–60 cm between plants
Allow sufficient spacing for airflow and vine management.
Sahel F1 is indeterminate and requires strong support.
Use:
Begin supporting plants early and loosely tie new vine growth as needed.
Water deeply and regularly, especially during flowering and fruit development.
Avoid repeated severe drying followed by excessive watering.
Before planting, incorporate GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost 🔗.
Once flowering begins, avoid excessive nitrogen and use balanced nutrition with adequate potassium to support fruit development.
Indeterminate tomatoes benefit from controlled vine management.
Remove when necessary:
Avoid excessive leaf removal.
Tomatoes are largely self-pollinating.
Natural wind or gently shaking flowering branches can help pollen movement where needed.
After successful fruit set, tomatoes gradually enlarge and develop their mature bright red colour.
Harvest when fruits develop full red colour and are firm but ripe.
Because Sahel F1 is indeterminate, harvesting can continue over an extended period under favourable growing conditions.
Pick ripe fruits regularly to maintain quality.
