Mix approximately 20–30% vermicompost with garden soil or a suitable potting medium before planting.
Suggested general soil mix:
50% garden soil
20–30% vermicompost
Remaining portion cocopeat, leaf compost, sand or another suitable growing medium
Vermicompost should normally be mixed with soil or other growing media instead of being used alone.
Apply approximately 1–2 kg per square metre and mix it into the upper layer of soil before sowing seeds or transplanting seedlings.
For existing beds, spread it evenly over the surface, mix gently into the topsoil and water afterward.
Mix approximately 10–15% vermicompost into the seedling or transplanting medium.
A small handful may also be mixed into the planting hole, depending on the plant and container size.
Apply a thin 1–2 cm layer around the plant as a top dressing.
Keep it slightly away from the main stem, mix gently with the upper soil and water thoroughly after application.
Spread vermicompost around the active root zone beneath the plant canopy.
Mix lightly with the topsoil and water well. Avoid piling it directly against the trunk.
Mix vermicompost into vegetable beds before sowing or planting. It may also be applied as a light top dressing during the growing season.
Spread a light, even layer over the lawn and water thoroughly.
Avoid applying a thick layer that completely covers the grass.
Use during bulk soil preparation for containers, planting beds and nursery mixes. Adjust the quantity according to the soil condition, crop type and growing area.
Apply during soil preparation and repeat approximately every 4–8 weeks, depending on the plant type, season, soil condition and growth stage.
Moderate application is generally sufficient. Excessive use is unnecessary.
