GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost 25kg is a natural organic soil amendment produced through the decomposition of organic matter with the help of earthworms.

It is an excellent addition to garden soil and potting mixes because it adds valuable organic matter and helps create better growing conditions around plant roots.

Its fine, earthy texture makes it easy to mix with garden soil, cocopeat, compost and other suitable growing media.

Regular and moderate use of vermicompost can help improve soil structure, aeration, moisture management and overall root-zone conditions while supporting beneficial biological activity in the soil.

The economical 25kg bulk pack is particularly suitable for kitchen gardens, raised beds, lawns, nurseries, fruit plants and larger growing areas.

How to Use Vermicompost

For Pots and Grow Bags

Mix approximately 20–30% vermicompost with garden soil or another suitable growing medium.

Suggested General Potting Mix

  • 50% Garden Soil

  • 20–30% Vermicompost

  • 20–30% Cocopeat, leaf compost, sand or another suitable growing-medium component

The exact ratio may be adjusted according to the plant, season, soil condition and drainage requirements.

Vermicompost is generally better used as part of a balanced growing medium rather than filling the complete pot or grow bag with vermicompost alone.

For Vegetable & Kitchen Gardens

Mix vermicompost thoroughly into the soil before sowing seeds or transplanting seedlings.

It may also be used later as a light top dressing during active plant growth.

For vegetables, maintaining a balance of moisture, aeration and drainage is especially important for healthy root development.

For Raised Beds and Garden Beds

Apply approximately:

1–2 kg per square metre

Mix it thoroughly into the upper soil layer before planting.

For existing beds:

  1. Spread vermicompost evenly.

  2. Mix it gently into the upper soil.

  3. Water after application.

For Seedlings and Transplants

Mix approximately 10–15% vermicompost into a suitable seedling or transplanting medium.

For larger transplants, a small quantity may also be mixed into the surrounding soil at planting time.

Avoid placing concentrated material directly against very young roots.

For Established Plants

Apply vermicompost as a light top dressing around established plants.

A general approach is to apply approximately a 1–2 cm layer over the soil surface.

Keep it slightly away from the main stem, mix gently into the upper soil and water afterward.

For Fruit Plants and Trees

Spread vermicompost around the active root zone beneath the plant canopy.

Mix it lightly into the upper soil and water thoroughly after application.

Avoid piling vermicompost directly against the trunk.

The required quantity depends on the age and size of the plant and the existing condition of the soil.

For Lawns

Apply a light and even layer of vermicompost over the lawn surface.

Water thoroughly after application.

Avoid applying such a thick layer that the grass blades become completely covered.

Recommended Application Frequency

Vermicompost may be applied:

  • During initial soil preparation

  • At planting or transplanting

  • As an occasional top dressing during active growth

A general interval of approximately 4–8 weeks may be suitable in many home-gardening situations.

Actual frequency should depend on:

  • Plant type

  • Plant age

  • Growing season

  • Soil condition

  • Existing soil fertility

  • Container size

  • Watering practices

Moderate application is usually sufficient.

Why Use Vermicompost?

Good plant growth depends greatly on the physical and biological condition of the soil around the roots.

Vermicompost adds organic matter that can help improve the overall condition of garden soil.

In lighter soils, organic matter can help improve moisture-holding capacity.

In heavier soils, suitable organic amendments can help improve soil structure and aeration.

For best results, vermicompost should be used as part of a balanced gardening programme that also considers watering, drainage, sunlight and plant nutrition.

Important Gardening Note

Vermicompost is an organic soil amendment and nutrient source and should not be considered a guaranteed solution for every plant problem.

Plant performance can also depend on:

  • Soil pH

  • Drainage

  • Irrigation

  • Sunlight

  • Temperature

  • Plant variety

  • Pest and disease pressure

  • Nutrient availability

  • Container size

  • Overall plant care

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a cool, dry and shaded location.

  • Keep the pack properly closed after use.

  • Protect from excessive moisture.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight.

  • Keep away from contamination.

  • Store separately from pesticides and chemicals.
