Holy Basil (Tulsi / تُلسی) is a sacred and aromatic herb widely grown for its medicinal, spiritual, and culinary uses. Known as the “Queen of Herbs,” Tulsi has a rich fragrance and produces small green leaves with a slightly spicy, clove-like flavor.

In traditional medicine, Tulsi is valued for its immunity-boosting, stress-relieving, and antibacterial properties. It’s also perfect for making herbal tea (Tulsi chai) and as a natural mosquito repellent.

Tulsi is an easy-to-grow perennial herb that thrives in pots, kitchen gardens, or outdoor beds — ideal for Pakistan’s climate.

Growing Instructions:

1. Soil:
Well-drained, fertile soil rich in compost or organic matter.

2. Sowing Time:
Best sown in spring to early summer (February–June).

3. Sowing Method:

  • Sow seeds ¼ inch (0.5 cm) deep in pots or directly in soil.

  • Lightly cover and mist with water.

  • Maintain 10–12 inches spacing between plants.

4. Watering:
Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top layer feels dry.

5. Sunlight:
Needs full sun (6–8 hours daily) for healthy growth and aroma.

6. Germination Time:
Seeds germinate in 7–14 days under warm conditions.

7. Harvesting:
Leaves can be harvested in 40–50 days after sowing. Regular picking encourages bushier growth.
