Recommended Soil / Potting Mix

Use a fertile, loose and well-draining growing medium.

Avoid heavy compact soil and continuous waterlogging.

Growing Instructions from Seeds

Zinnia can be direct sown or started in seedling trays.

Sow seeds approximately:

0.5–1 cm deep

Keep the growing medium lightly and consistently moist until germination.

If raised in trays, transplant seedlings carefully while young to minimise root disturbance.

Germination

5–10 days

For best results:

  • Maintain 20–30°C

  • Keep soil lightly moist

  • Provide good drainage

  • Avoid overwatering

  • Provide strong light after germination

Plant Spacing

Maintain approximately:

25–35 cm / 10–14 inches between plants

for good branching, airflow and flower development.

Sunlight

Provide:

Full sun — preferably 6–8 hours or more of direct sunlight daily.

Watering

Water regularly while plants establish.

Once established, water deeply when the upper soil layer begins to dry.

Water near soil level where possible and avoid keeping foliage continuously wet.

Growth & Flowering

Zinnia Burpeeana Mix develops an upright, branching growth habit with multiple large, densely petalled flowers.

The mix may produce shades of red, pink, rose, orange, yellow, purple, white and related tones.

Regular deadheading encourages continued flowering and keeps plants productive for longer.

Feeding

Mix GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost into the soil before planting.

Moderate feeding during active growth supports strong stems and abundant flowering.

Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer.
