Sowing Season in Pakistan:

• Main season: February to April

• Autumn crop (warm areas): August to September

Growing Season:

• Warm season crop

• Ideal temperature: 22–35°C

• Requires full sunlight for best growth and sweetness

• Suitable for open fields, raised beds, and large containers with trellis support

Harvest:

• Ready for harvest in 75–90 days after sowing

• Fruits are mature when:

  • The tendril near the fruit turns brown and dry

  • The underside (ground spot) changes from white to creamy yellow

  • A dull hollow sound is heard when tapped

Growing Instructions:

• Sow seeds directly in well-drained, fertile sandy loam soil

• Sowing depth: 2–3 cm

• Plant spacing: 60–90 cm between plants, 1.5–2 m between rows

• Germination: 5–10 days

• Regular watering, especially during flowering and fruit setting

• Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot

• Apply balanced NPK and organic compost for better fruit size and sweetness
