Broadleaf F1 Hybrid Spinach is grown for its large green leaves, tender texture and rapid leafy growth.
The plants develop a compact leafy habit and can be harvested either as young tender leaves or allowed to produce larger mature foliage.
Because this is described as a summer late variety, it is intended for cultivation toward the warmer end of the normal spinach season. However, spinach still performs best when protected from prolonged extreme heat.
Fresh spinach leaves can be used in:
Young leaves can also be harvested for fresh salads when suitable.

Spinach generally germinates quickly under moderate temperatures.
Keep the growing medium consistently moist during germination, but avoid waterlogging.
During warmer weather, sowing in slightly cooler soil and maintaining regular moisture can support better seedling establishment.

Because spinach has a relatively shallow root system, wider grow bags are particularly useful for producing more leaves in a limited space.

Mix thoroughly before sowing.
The growing medium should be:
Spinach prefers consistent moisture, especially during active leafy growth, but the roots should never remain permanently waterlogged.
1. Prepare the Growing Medium
Mix 50% Vermicompost + 50% Bhalu Mitti thoroughly.
Break up hard soil lumps and prepare a fine, level growing surface.
2. Sow Directly
Spinach is easy to direct-sow into its final growing location.
Sow seeds approximately:
1–1.5 cm deep
Cover lightly with fine soil.
3. Water Gently
Water with a fine shower immediately after sowing.
Keep the soil consistently moist during germination.
4. Germination
Seeds generally germinate within approximately:
5–10 days
under suitable conditions.
5. Light Requirements
Provide approximately 4–6 hours of sunlight daily.
During warmer weather, morning sunlight with some afternoon protection can help maintain tender foliage.
6. Thin the Seedlings
Once seedlings become established, remove excessive crowding.
For baby-leaf production, plants may be kept closer together.
For larger mature leaves, provide additional spacing.
7. Plant Spacing
For full-sized plants, maintain approximately:
10–15 cm between plants
Where spinach is grown mainly for young leaves, closer spacing may be used.
8. Watering
Maintain regular and consistent soil moisture.
Avoid allowing the soil to remain completely dry for extended periods, particularly during warm weather.
9. Feeding
The recommended growing medium already contains 50% Vermicompost, which supports healthy leafy growth.
Additional GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost may be applied lightly around established plants when required.
Avoid excessive fertilizer application.
10. Weed Control
Remove weeds regularly, especially while spinach seedlings are small.
Avoid disturbing the shallow root system.
11. Warm-Weather Care
Because this is a summer late variety, it can be grown later into the season than standard winter spinach.
However, during periods of intense heat:
Extreme heat can still encourage premature flowering or reduce leaf tenderness.
12. Harvesting
Begin harvesting once leaves reach a useful size.
For continuous harvesting, pick the outer mature leaves first and leave the central growing point intact.
Alternatively, plants may be harvested whole when they reach the preferred size.
Regular harvesting helps maintain fresh leafy growth.
