Growing Instructions from Seed Potatoes

1. Prepare: Choose firm, healthy potatoes with visible eyes. Whole small seed tubers are preferable. If a larger tuber must be divided, ensure each piece has healthy eyes; let cut surfaces dry and heal before planting.
2. Fill the grow bag: Add approximately 4–6 inches of potting mix to the bottom of the G-15 P bag.
3. Plant: Position 1–2 seed tubers with the eyes facing upwards. Cover with approximately 3–4 inches of mix.
4. Light and watering: Keep in a sunny location with about 6–8 hours of light where possible. Maintain even moisture without waterlogging.
5. Earth up: As the stems grow, gradually add more loose potting mix around their lower parts, keeping the upper foliage exposed. This helps keep developing tubers in darkness.
6. Care: Check for aphids, blight symptoms and other pests. Avoid prolonged leaf wetness and remove diseased material promptly.
7. Harvest: Potatoes are generally ready after approximately 90–120 days, depending on conditions. Wait until plants yellow and decline for a mature harvest. Handle gently and store tubers in a cool, dark, ventilated place.
