SUMMER flowering vine
Suitable for growing one healthy Morning Glory vine with a suitable trellis or climbing support.
Recommended for growing several Morning Glory plants together with a larger trellis for a fuller vertical flowering display.
Use:
60% Bhalu Mitti / Sandy Soil + 30% GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost + 10% Cocopeat
The growing medium should be:
Loose, fertile and well-draining.
Avoid:
Heavy compact soil
Poor drainage
Continuous waterlogging
Morning Glory seeds have a relatively hard seed coat.
For better and more uniform germination:
Soak the seeds in clean water for approximately 8–12 hours before sowing.
Sow approximately:
1–1.5 cm deep
in seedling pots, grow bags or directly into the final growing position.
Keep the growing medium:
Lightly and consistently moist until germination.
Once seedlings begin growing actively, provide a trellis, net, railing or other vertical structure so the vines can climb naturally.
Seeds generally germinate within:
7–14 days
under suitable warm conditions.
For successful germination:
Use fresh seeds
Pre-soak seeds before sowing
Maintain warm temperatures
Keep the growing medium lightly moist
Avoid excessive watering
Maintain good drainage
Maintain approximately:
20–30 cm / 8–12 inches between plants
when growing several vines together.
Allow sufficient space for good airflow while providing a suitable structure for vertical growth.
Provide:
Full sun
For vigorous vine growth and abundant flowering:
6+ hours of direct sunlight daily
is recommended where possible.
Water regularly during germination and while young plants are becoming established.
After establishment:
Water when the upper soil layer begins to dry.
Keep the soil moderately moist but well-drained.
Avoid prolonged waterlogging.
Morning Glory is a natural twining climber and should be provided with vertical support soon after establishment.
Suitable supports include:
Trellis
Garden net
Balcony railing
Fence
Pergola
Wire support
Guide young vines gently towards the support where necessary.
Once established, the vines will naturally wrap themselves around suitable structures.
At planting time, mix:
into the growing medium.
Morning Glory generally performs well in moderately fertile soil enriched with organic matter.
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, as this may encourage excessive leafy growth at the expense of flowering.
