SUMMER flowering climber
Suitable for growing one healthy Morning Glory Chocolate vine with a suitable trellis or vertical support.
Recommended for growing several plants together with a larger trellis for a fuller flowering display.
Use:
60% Bhalu Mitti / Sandy Soil + 30% GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost + 10% Cocopeat
The growing medium should be:
Loose, fertile and well-draining.
Avoid:
Heavy compact soil
Poor drainage
Continuous waterlogging
Morning Glory seeds have a relatively hard seed coat.
For faster and more uniform germination:
Soak the seeds in clean water for approximately 8–12 hours before sowing.
Sow approximately:
1–1.5 cm deep
in seedling pots, grow bags or directly into the final growing position.
Keep the growing medium:
Lightly and consistently moist until germination.
Once seedlings start producing active vine growth, provide a trellis, net, railing or other vertical structure for climbing.
Seeds generally germinate within:
5–15 days
under suitable warm conditions.
For successful germination:
Use fresh seeds
Pre-soak seeds before sowing
Maintain warm temperatures
Keep the growing medium lightly moist
Avoid sowing too deeply
Avoid excessive watering
Maintain good drainage
Maintain approximately:
20–30 cm / 8–12 inches between plants
when growing several vines together.
Adequate spacing helps maintain airflow and allows the vines sufficient room to develop.
Provide:
Full sun
For strong vine growth and abundant flowering:
6+ hours of direct sunlight daily
is recommended where possible.
Water regularly while seedlings and young vines are becoming established.
After establishment:
Water when the upper soil layer begins to dry.
Maintain moderate soil moisture while ensuring good drainage.
Avoid continuous waterlogging.
Morning Glory Chocolate is a natural twining climber and requires vertical support.
Suitable supports include:
Trellis
Garden net
Balcony railing
Fence
Pergola
Garden arch
Wire support
Direct young vines gently towards the support where required.
Once established, the vines will naturally twine around suitable structures.
At planting time, mix:
into the growing medium.
Morning Glory performs well in moderately fertile soil enriched with organic matter.
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer because overly rich nitrogen feeding can encourage vigorous foliage at the expense of flowering.
