Kochia Green is primarily grown for its attractive foliage and naturally tidy, bush-like form rather than for showy flowers.
The fine green leaves create a soft-textured appearance that works especially well in formal borders, pathway edging, mass plantings and ornamental containers.

SUMMER foliage plant
Suitable for growing one compact Kochia plant.
Recommended for one healthy Kochia plant with additional space for fuller bushy development.
Excellent for growing several plants together for a dense green hedge-style or mass foliage display.
Use:
60% Bhalu Mitti / Sandy Soil + 30% GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost + 10% Cocopeat
The growing medium should be:
Loose, moderately fertile and well-draining.
Kochia is adaptable and can perform in relatively lean soils once established.
Avoid:
Heavy compact soil
Poor drainage
Continuous waterlogging
Kochia seeds are small.
For best results:
Surface sow or cover only very lightly with fine growing medium.
Do not sow deeply.
Keep the growing medium:
Lightly and consistently moist until germination.
Seeds can be direct sown into their final position or started carefully in seedling trays.
Once seedlings are established, thin or transplant them to provide adequate growing space.
Seeds generally germinate within:
7–14 days
under suitable conditions.
For successful germination:
Use fresh seeds
Maintain mild to warm temperatures
Keep the surface lightly moist
Avoid deep sowing
Provide bright light
Maintain good drainage
Maintain approximately:
30–45 cm / 12–18 inches between individual plants
for well-shaped bushy growth.
For hedge-style planting, plants may be positioned somewhat closer together to create a denser foliage effect.
Provide:
Full sun
For compact symmetrical growth and dense green foliage:
6+ hours of direct sunlight daily
is recommended.
Plants grown in insufficient sunlight may become less dense and more elongated.
Water regularly while young plants are becoming established.
After establishment:
Water when the upper soil layer begins to dry.
Kochia becomes relatively drought tolerant after establishment, but moderate watering supports better foliage development.
Avoid continuous waterlogging.
Kochia naturally develops an attractive dense form.
For a more formal appearance:
Light trimming may be used to maintain a compact rounded or hedge-like shape.
Avoid severe pruning of very young plants.
Regular light shaping can be especially useful when Kochia is used for borders or ornamental hedging.
At planting time, mix a moderate amount of:
into the growing medium.
Kochia generally does not require heavy feeding.
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, as overly rich feeding may encourage soft, excessive growth.
Suitable for:
Summer borders
Pathway edging
Mass foliage displays
Temporary ornamental hedging
Formal garden layouts
Pots and containers
Grow bags
Rooftop gardens
