Iberis amara is a cool-season flowering annual from the Brassicaceae family, commonly known as:
Candytuft, Annual Candytuft or Wild Candytuft.
It develops compact, upright to branching growth with green foliage and attractive clusters of small white flowers.
Under suitable growing conditions, plants may reach approximately:
30–45 cm / 12–18 inches tall.
Its clean white flowering display makes it especially attractive for edging paths, filling borders and creating compact flowering groups in containers.

Growing several plants together as a broad white flowering display.
Use:
70% Bhalu Mitti / Sandy Soil + 20% GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost 🔗 + 10% Cocopeat
The growing medium should be:
Loose, moderately fertile and well-draining.
Avoid:
Iberis amara performs well in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil, so heavy feeding is unnecessary.
Iberis amara is well suited to:
Direct sowing.
Sow seeds directly in beds, pots or grow bags approximately:
0.5 cm / ¼ inch deep.
Cover lightly with fine soil and water gently.
Keep the growing medium:
Lightly and consistently moist until germination.
Seedlings may also be started separately and transplanted while still young.
Avoid sowing Iberis seeds too deeply.
A:
Thin covering of fine growing medium
is sufficient.
If seedlings emerge too closely together:
Thin the weaker plants after establishment.
Gentle watering is recommended because the seeds and young seedlings can easily be disturbed by strong water flow.
Seeds generally germinate within:
10–15 days
under suitable conditions.
Good germination depends on:
Avoid:
Allowing the soil to dry completely or remain continuously waterlogged.
Recommended germination temperature:
15–20°C
Cool-to-moderate temperatures encourage:
Healthy and relatively uniform germination.
After germination, maintain:
Good light, fresh air and moderate soil moisture.
Maintain approximately:
20–25 cm / 8–10 inches between plants
for home garden cultivation.
Adequate spacing helps provide:
Good airflow, healthy branching and a neat flowering habit. A seed-growing reference lists about 20 cm spacing for Iberis amara.
Provide:
Full sun.
Approximately:
5–6+ hours of direct sunlight daily
is recommended for healthy compact growth and better flowering.
Light partial shade can be tolerated, but flowering is generally strongest in a sunny position.
Keep young plants moderately moist during establishment.
Afterward:
Water when the upper soil layer begins to dry.
Avoid:
Standing water and continuously saturated soil.
Iberis prefers:
Moist but well-drained growing conditions.
At planting time, incorporate a moderate amount of:
into the growing medium.
Iberis amara generally requires:
Moderate fertility rather than heavy feeding.
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer because it may encourage:
Excessive leafy growth instead of compact flowering.
