GREEN GARDENS Eggshell Powder is a natural calcium source for plants, prepared from finely ground eggshells. It is a useful gardening input for improving long-term soil health, compost quality, and calcium support for plants.
Eggshell powder works as a slow-release calcium source, so it should be used as a supportive soil amendment, not as an instant fertilizer. It is ideal for potting mixes, compost, raised beds, grow bags, containers, and for preparing calcium extract with white vinegar.
✅ Natural Calcium Source
Adds calcium to the growing medium slowly and naturally.
✅ Supports Strong Plant Growth
Calcium helps support strong cell walls, better plant structure, and healthier growth.
✅ Good for Fruiting Plants
Useful as calcium support for tomato, chilli, capsicum, brinjal, cucumber, flowering plants, and other fruiting crops.
✅ Supports Long-Term Soil Health
When mixed into soil or compost, it slowly breaks down and helps improve the growing medium over time.
✅ Ideal for Composting
Can be added to compost piles, compost bins, and organic mixes to improve mineral value.
✅ Useful for Vinegar Calcium Method
Can be used with white vinegar to prepare a calcium extract for plants.
✅ Eco-Friendly Gardening Input
A natural and sustainable way to reuse eggshells as a gardening resource.
Mix a small quantity of eggshell powder into potting soil, grow bags, raised beds, or containers.
Suggested quantity:
Use lightly and in moderation. For small pots, use a small pinch to 1 teaspoon. For larger pots or grow bags, use 1–2 tablespoons depending on pot size.
Add eggshell powder to compost piles or compost bins. It will slowly break down and add calcium and minerals to the compost.
For a quicker calcium method, mix:
1 part eggshell powder + 10 parts white vinegar
Add vinegar slowly because bubbling or foaming is normal. Keep the jar loosely covered, allow it to react for 5–7 days, then strain and store the liquid.
Usage after preparation:
Soil drench: 5 ml per 1 litre water
Foliar spray: 2–3 ml per 1 litre water
Apply in the morning or evening
Repeat after 15–20 days if needed
Eggshell powder is not a magic fertilizer and it is not an instant cure for blossom end rot. For best results, use it along with:
consistent watering
healthy roots
mulching
balanced feeding
good soil care
Use eggshells correctly, not blindly.
