Celery F1 Hybrid is a productive winter vegetable that develops upright clusters of crisp, fleshy green stalks with fresh leafy tops.

This F1 hybrid is suitable for home gardeners looking for uniform celery growth under suitable growing conditions. Celery prefers fertile soil, regular moisture, moderate temperatures and adequate spacing.

Both the stalks and leaves are edible, making celery a useful addition to kitchen gardens.

The leafy tops can also be used as an aromatic ingredient in soups and cooked recipes.

Recommended Soil / Potting Mix

Use:

50% Vermicompost + 50% Bhalu Mitti (Sandy Soil)

🔗 GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost

This mix provides organic matter, nutrients, drainage and moisture retention.

The growing medium should remain:

  • Loose

  • Fertile

  • Well drained

  • Moisture-retentive

Avoid prolonged waterlogging.

Growing Celery F1 Hybrid from Seeds

1. Prepare the Growing Medium

Mix: 50% Vermicompost + 50% Bhalu Mitti / Sandy Soil

Prepare a fine and loose surface for the small celery seeds.

2. Sow the Seeds

Scatter the seeds thinly over the soil surface.

Press gently and cover with only a very thin layer of fine soil.

Do not sow deeply.

3. Watering

Water gently using a fine mist or soft shower.

Keep the growing medium consistently moist during germination without making it waterlogged.

4. Germination

Germination Time: 14–21 days
Suitable Temperature: 15°C–28°C

Celery may germinate gradually, so maintain consistent moisture.

5. Light Requirements

Once seedlings emerge, provide good light.

Established plants generally perform well with around 4–6 hours of sunlight daily.

Morning sunlight is useful in warmer conditions.

6. Thinning & Transplanting

Thin weak or overcrowded seedlings.

Transplant when seedlings develop approximately 4–6 true leaves

Handle roots carefully and water after transplanting.

7. Plant Spacing

Maintain approximately:

20–25 cm between plants

Adequate spacing helps improve airflow and stalk development.

8. General Care

For healthy celery plants:

  • Maintain consistent moisture

  • Avoid severe drying

  • Remove weeds regularly

  • Maintain good airflow

  • Remove damaged leaves

  • Protect from extreme heat

  • Monitor for pests

9. Harvesting

Harvest when stalks are firm, crisp and well developed.

You may either:

  • Cut the whole plant near soil level, or

  • Harvest outer stalks first while leaving the central growth intact
