F1 Hybrid Cauliflower is a cool-season brassica grown for its compact edible flower head.

Plants first develop a broad leafy rosette, followed by a central cauliflower head under suitable growing conditions.

Because this is an F1 hybrid product, exact head size, maturity time, yield and disease resistance should only be stated if verified from the original breeder or seed packet.

Recommended Soil / Potting Mix

Use:

50% Vermicompost + 50% Bhalu Mitti (Sandy Soil)

Mix thoroughly before sowing or transplanting.

The growing medium should be:

  • Loose
  • Fertile
  • Well drained
  • Moisture-retentive
  • Free from hard compaction

Cauliflower prefers regular moisture but should not remain permanently waterlogged.

Growing Instructions from Seeds

1. Prepare the Growing Medium
Mix 50% Vermicompost + 50% Bhalu Mitti thoroughly and prepare a fine, loose seed-starting surface.

2. Sow the Seeds
Sow approximately:

0.5–1 cm deep

Cover lightly with fine soil.

3. Water Gently
Use a fine mist or gentle shower.

Keep the growing medium evenly moist during germination.

4. Germination
Seeds generally germinate within:

5–10 days

under suitable conditions.

5. Light Requirements
Provide approximately 5–6+ hours of sunlight daily.

6. Thin the Seedlings
Remove weak and overcrowded seedlings once several true leaves develop.

7. Transplanting
Transplant when seedlings are sturdy and have approximately:

4–6 true leaves

Suitable final locations include garden beds, raised beds, pots and GREEN GARDENS grow bags.

8. Plant Spacing
Maintain approximately:

40–50 cm between plants

for good airflow and head development.

9. Watering
Maintain regular and consistent soil moisture.

Avoid prolonged dryness, especially during active growth and head formation.

10. Feeding
The recommended growing medium already contains Vermicompost.

Additional GREEN GARDENS Vermicompost may be applied lightly around established plants if required.

11. General Care
Keep the growing area weed-free and remove damaged or yellow leaves.

Monitor regularly for common brassica pests and maintain good airflow.

12. Head Development
The central cauliflower head develops between the surrounding leaves.

For white-headed types, some gardeners loosely fold outer leaves over the developing head to reduce direct sunlight and help maintain a pale colour.

13. Harvesting
Harvest when the head is:

  • Firm
  • Compact
  • Fully developed
  • Still tightly formed

Use a clean knife and cut the head with a few protective leaves attached if desired.

Do not wait until the head begins separating or flowering.
