Franchi 3 Colour Carrot Mix combines orange, white and yellow carrot types in one packet for a varied and attractive winter harvest.
The mix is described as medium-early, and individual roots may vary slightly in size, shape and maturity depending on colour type and growing conditions.

For good carrot root formation, the growing medium should be:
Avoid fresh manure and excessive nitrogen, as these can encourage excessive leafy growth or irregular root development.
1. Prepare the Growing Medium
Mix 50% Vermicompost + 50% Bhalu Mitti thoroughly.
Remove stones, hard lumps and undecomposed material so the roots can grow straight.
2. Sow Directly
Carrots are best direct-sown in their final growing location.
Avoid transplanting, as disturbing the developing root can cause forked or misshapen carrots.
3. Sowing Depth
Sow approximately:
0.5–1 cm deep
Cover lightly with fine soil.
4. Water Gently
Use a fine shower after sowing.
Keep the soil surface consistently moist until germination is complete.
5. Germination
Seeds generally germinate within:
14–21 days
under suitable conditions.
Carrot germination can be gradual, so maintain moisture patiently.
6. Light Requirements
Provide approximately 5–6+ hours of sunlight daily.
7. Thin the Seedlings
Once seedlings are established, thin crowded plants carefully.
Maintain approximately:
5–7 cm between plants
for better root development.
8. Watering
Maintain even soil moisture throughout growth.
Avoid prolonged dryness followed by excessive watering.
9. Feeding
The recommended soil mix already contains Vermicompost.
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer because it can encourage leafy tops at the expense of good root development.
10. Weed Control
Keep the growing area weed-free, especially while carrot seedlings are small.
Remove weeds carefully to avoid disturbing the developing roots.
11. Root Development
If the top of a carrot root begins showing above the soil, gently cover it with loose soil to reduce exposure.
12. Harvesting
Harvest individual carrots once the roots reach a useful size and good colour.
Because this is a three-colour mixture, maturity and root size may vary slightly between individual plants.
Harvest progressively rather than waiting for every carrot to mature at the same time.
