Heavy compact soil
Poor drainage
Continuous waterlogging
Buddleia seeds are very small.
Surface sow or cover only very lightly with fine growing medium or vermiculite.
Do not bury seeds deeply.
Keep the growing medium:
Lightly and consistently moist until germination.
Place the seed tray in bright light but protect young seedlings from harsh direct sunlight during early germination.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant carefully into individual pots or grow bags.
Seeds generally germinate within:
20–30 days
under suitable conditions.
For successful germination:
Use fresh seeds
Maintain mild warmth
Keep the growing medium lightly moist
Avoid deep sowing
Provide bright light
Maintain good drainage
Maintain approximately:
60–90 cm / 24–36 inches between plants
when planting in beds or borders.
Adequate spacing helps provide good airflow and allows the shrub to develop its natural arching form. Your current GREEN GARDENS listing also recommends 60–90 cm spacing.

For healthy growth and abundant flowering:
6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily
is recommended.
Your existing product page also lists full sun as the preferred light condition.
Keep young seedlings moderately moist while establishing.
After establishment:
Water when the upper soil layer begins to dry.
Mature Buddleia plants prefer moderate watering and well-drained soil.
Avoid continuously saturated soil.
Butterfly Bush responds well to pruning.
Remove old, weak or dead stems during late winter or early spring to encourage:
Fresh new growth
Stronger branching
Better flowering
Improved plant shape
This is also consistent with the care guidance on your current listing.
At planting time, mix:
into the growing medium.
During active growth, light feeding can support healthy foliage and flowering.
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, which may encourage excessive leafy growth.
