Tuberose is a highly prized ornamental plant famous for its intensely fragrant, waxy white flowers that bloom in elongated spikes. Blooming primarily in the late summer and fall, their sweet, heady scent is strongest in the evening. They make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers and bring a wonderful, tropical aroma to any garden or balcony.

Sowing Season: Plant your bulbs between March and July for the best results.
Soil Mix: Tuberoses need excellent drainage and rich nutrients. Prepare a mix of:
Grow Bags: Recommended sizes are G-11 (11" x 10") or G-12 (12" x 12").
Clay Pots: A standard 12-inch pot is perfect.
Fertilizer Routine: Use a "Flower Mix" (Multinutrient Fertilizer) to keep the plants blooming.
Full Sun is Key: Tuberoses thrive in bright light and need a lot of energy to produce their highly fragrant spikes. Place your pots or grow bags in a location that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight every day.
Heat Lovers: These plants love warm weather. However, during the absolute peak of extreme summer heat, providing a little dappled afternoon shade can help the flowers last longer and prevent the tips from scorching.
Preventing Leggy Growth: If the plants don't get enough sunlight, they will produce an abundance of green leaves but weak, floppy stems and very few, if any, flower spikes.
Keep it Moist, Not Soggy: The goal is evenly moist soil. Overwatering or letting the bulbs sit in stagnant water is the fastest way to cause bulb rot. This is exactly why your recommended 50% Bhalu Mitti mix is perfect, as it ensures excellent drainage.
The "Finger Test": Before watering, check the soil. Water deeply only when the top 1 to 2 inches of the soil mix feels dry to the touch.
Watering During Active Growth: Once the green shoots emerge and especially when the flower spikes start forming, be very consistent with your watering schedule. A sudden dry spell during this crucial stage can stunt the flowers or cause the buds to drop.
Base Watering: Always try to water at the base of the plant directly into the soil rather than wetting the foliage, which helps prevent fungal issues.
Quick Planting Tip: Plant the bulbs with their pointed ends facing up, about 2 inches deep in your prepared soil, and water them thoroughly after planting.
