Amaranthus (Red + Green) is a fast-growing, colorful leafy vegetable as well as grown as flowers. Perfect for home gardens and kitchen gardens in Pakistan. This variety includes both red and green amaranth, giving you a mix of vibrant foliage that is attractive and highly nutritious. The tender leaves are rich in vitamins, iron, fiber, and antioxidants - ideal for salads, saag, soups, and everyday cooking.
Amaranthus is easy to grow, heat-tolerant, and produces a continuous harvest, making it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced gardeners.

Sowing Seasons:

The growing season for amaranth seeds (both red and green) in Pakistan is primarily during the warm months, with two main sowing periods: February - April (spring) and July - August (monsoon). Amaranthus thrives in warm conditions and can be planted from mid-spring to early summer, with the best sowing times being early spring and the monsoon season for quick germination and growth in Pakistan's climate. 

Growing Instructions:

1. Soil Requirements

• Use well-drained, fertile soil

• Add 50% vermicompost and 50% sandy soil (Bhall). 

2. Watering

• Keep soil moist but never waterlogged

• Water regularly in hot weather

3. Sunlight

• Grows best in full sun (6 - 8 hours daily)

• Can tolerate partial shade

4. Spacing

• Keep 8 - 12 inches between plants

• For larger varieties, use 12 - 18 inches spacing

5. Harvesting

• Leaves can be harvested in 25 - 35 days

• Cut young leaves for best taste and quick regrowth

• Continuous harvesting encourages bushier plants
