Wallflower (Erysimum cheiri) is a beautiful, fragrant winter-flowering plant known for its vibrant blooms in yellow, orange, red, purple, and bronze shades. These hardy annual flowers thrive in cool weather and bring rich fragrance and color to winter gardens. Wallflowers are tough, cold-tolerant plants that perform best during Pakistan’s winter season.
Best time to sow:
September to December (Winter season in Pakistan)
Wallflowers prefer cool weather and do not tolerate extreme heat.
Use soft, fertile, well-drained soil.
Slightly alkaline or neutral soil is ideal.
Sprinkle seeds lightly on the soil surface.
Cover with a thin layer of soil or vermiculite.
Water gently with a spray bottle to avoid shifting seeds.
Germination time: 10–20 days.
Requires Full Sun (6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily).
Cool temperatures + sunlight = best flowering.
Keep soil slightly moist.
Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
Keep 20–25 cm space between plants.
