Prefers mild winter temperatures
Can also be grown indoors year-round with sunlight
Use well-draining soil rich in organic matter
Add 50% vermicompost and 50% sandy soil (Bhall).
Ideal pH: 6.0 – 7.5
Fill pots or seed trays with loose soil
Sow seeds ¼ inch deep
Maintain spacing of 10 - 12 inches between plants
Lightly mist the soil after sowing
Requires 5–6 hours of direct sunlight daily
Can tolerate partial shade
Keep soil slightly moist, not waterlogged
Water when the top soil feels dry
Avoid wetting the leaves too often
Ideal temperature: 18 - 28°C
Protect from frost during very cold nights
Seeds germinate in 7 - 14 days
Harvest leaves once the plant reaches 6 - 8 inches
Pinch the top leaves regularly to make the plant bushier
Harvest gently without damaging the stem
