Nasturtium (نسٹرشم) is a vibrant, easy-to-grow flowering plant perfect for winter gardens. It produces bright, colorful flowers ranging from orange, red, to yellow, with rounded green leaves. Both flowers and leaves are edible, offering a peppery flavor ideal for salads, garnishes, and culinary decoration.
This winter variety is fast-growing, low-maintenance, and adds beauty and charm to gardens, balconies, and window boxes. Nasturtium also attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies, enhancing garden biodiversity.
1. Soil:
Well-drained, fertile soil with moderate nutrients. Nasturtium grows well in poor to average soils too. Ideal pH: 6.0–7.5.
2. Sowing Time (Pakistan):
Best sown from October to February for winter flowering.
3. Sowing Method:
Sow seeds directly in the soil or pots at a depth of ½ inch (1–1.5 cm).
