Morning Glory Scarlett O'Hara (Ipomoea nil) is a vigorous, fast-growing climbing annual vine that produces large, bright scarlet-red, trumpet-shaped flowers with a contrasting light center. The intense red color creates a bold and eye-catching display, making it perfect for decorating fences, walls, trellises, pergolas, arches, and balconies.
This variety blooms early in the morning and continues flowering throughout the summer. It grows very well in Pakistan’s warm climate and is easy to cultivate from seed.

🌿 Growing Instructions

1. Sunlight

• Plant in full sun (6–8 hours daily) for best growth and maximum flowering.

2. Soil

• Well-drained, fertile soil mixed with compost or organic matter.

• Ideal soil pH: 6.0 – 7.5.

3. Seed Preparation

• Soak seeds in water for 8–12 hours before sowing to soften the seed coat and improve germination.

4. Sowing Method

• Sow directly in the ground or in large pots.

• Depth: 1–1.5 cm

• Spacing: 30–45 cm

• Germination: 7–10 days in warm weather.

5. Watering

• Water lightly after sowing.

• Keep soil moist until seedlings establish.

• Then water 2–3 times per week, more frequently in extreme heat.

6. Support

• Provide strong support such as trellis, net, fence, or bamboo stakes for climbing.

7. Fertilizer

• Mix well-rotted compost or farmyard manure before planting.

• Apply a balanced fertilizer (NPK 10-10-10) every 3–4 weeks.

• Avoid excess nitrogen to encourage more flowers.

8. Flowering & Care

• Flowering begins in about 4–6 weeks after sowing.

• Remove faded flowers and weak shoots to promote continuous blooming.

• Control aphids and mites with neem oil or mild insecticidal soap if required.
