Purple Kohlrabi (Brassica oleracea) is a unique, bulb-forming cool-season vegetable with a crisp texture and mildly sweet, slightly peppery flavor. Its purple skin and pale white flesh make it attractive and nutritious. It grows above the soil like a round bulb and produces tender leaves that are also edible.
Kohlrabi is easy to grow in Pakistan’s winter season and performs exceptionally well in containers and kitchen gardens.
September to February
These months offer ideal temperatures for bulbing and leafy growth.
March (early) – Possible in areas with mild spring, but avoid heat.
