Ghotki Chili is a premium local chili variety known for its bright red, round-shaped fruits, strong flavor, and excellent pungency. Ideal for adding spice to traditional dishes, pickles, sauces, and homemade chili powders, this winter variety is highly valued by gardeners and farmers in Pakistan. It is vigorous, high-yielding, and adapts well to cool winter conditions.
Winter Sowing: October to February
Thrives in cool to moderate temperatures.
Best germination occurs when daytime temperatures are 20–25°C.
Soil Preparation:
Prefers well-drained, fertile soil with organic compost.
Ensure soil pH is between 6.0–7.5.
Sowing Method:
Sow seeds in nursery trays or pots 0.5–1 cm deep.
Keep soil moist until germination.
Germination occurs in 10–15 days under ideal conditions.
Transplanting:
Transplant seedlings when they reach 4–6 inches tall.
Maintain a spacing of 30–40 cm between plants.
Sunlight:
Requires full sunlight for 6–8 hours daily.
Watering:
Water moderately. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.
