Gaillardia pulchella Double (Dwarf Mix) is a vibrant and compact flowering plant known for its fully double, pom-pom style blooms in shades of red, yellow, orange, and creamy white. These bright flowers grow on short, sturdy plants, making them perfect for flower beds, borders, pots, and containers. The plant blooms continuously throughout the warm season and attracts butterflies and pollinators. Its drought tolerance and easy care make it an excellent choice for gardens in Pakistan.

Growing Instructions from Seeds (Pakistan)

Sowing Season:
• Spring: February – April
• Autumn: September – October (mild regions)

Temperature for Germination:
18–26°C

1. Soil Preparation

Use well-drained, light soil. A mix of garden soil, compost, and sand works well.

2. Sowing Seeds

• Sow seeds directly on soil surface and cover very lightly with soil (about 2–3 mm).
• Keep spacing 20–25 cm between plants.
• Seeds usually germinate in 7–14 days.

3. Sunlight

Gaillardia needs full sunlight (6–8 hours daily) for best flowering.

4. Watering

• Keep soil slightly moist during germination.
• Once established, water moderately.
• Avoid overwatering as plants prefer slightly dry conditions.

5. Fertilizer

Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks for better blooms.

6. Plant Height

Approx. 25–35 cm (10–14 inches)

7. Blooming Time

Flowers start appearing 60–70 days after sowing and continue blooming through summer.

8. Maintenance

• Remove spent flowers (deadheading) to encourage more blooms.
• Very heat and drought tolerant once established.
