Sowing Season (Pakistan)

• Best Sowing Time: October, November and February, March

• Thrives in cool to moderate temperatures, making winter ideal for planting.

• Prefers sunny locations with well-drained fertile soil.

Growing Instructions

Soil Preparation:

• Use fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. 50% vermicompost and 50% bhalu mitti (sandy soil) is recommended. 

• Apply compost or well-rotted manure before planting for better growth.

Sowing Method:

• Sow seeds in seedling trays or small pots and cover lightly with soil.

• Keep soil moist until germination (7–12 days).

• Transplant seedlings when 4–6 leaves develop, spacing 50–60 cm apart.

Sunlight:

• Requires full sun, minimum 6–7 hours daily.

Watering:

• Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture.

• Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.

Care:

• Apply balanced fertilizer every 3–4 weeks.

• Remove weeds regularly.

• Stake plants if needed to support growth.

Harvesting:

• Brinjals are ready to harvest 55–65 days after transplanting.

• Pick regularly to encourage more fruit production.
