Bull’s Horn Pepper (also known as Corno di Toro) is a premium sweet pepper variety famous for its long, tapered, horn-shaped fruits that can reach 18–25 cm in length. The fruits have a smooth, glossy skin and thick, juicy flesh with a mild, sweet flavor and very low pungency. Color changes from deep green to bright red at full maturity, enhancing both taste and nutritional value. This variety is highly valued for fresh consumption, salads, stuffing, grilling, roasting, stir-frying, and drying. Plants are strong, upright, and highly productive, offering uniform fruit size, excellent shelf life, and good tolerance to common pepper diseases, making it suitable for both home gardeners and commercial growers in Pakistan.
Sowing Season in Pakistan:
August to September for autumn crop
January to February for spring crop
In warm and mild regions, sowing can also be done in October for early winter harvest
Growing Season:
Autumn, Spring, and early Summer. Best growth occurs at temperatures between 18–30°C with full sunlight and well-drained fertile soil.
Harvest:
First harvest starts 70–85 days after transplanting
Green fruits can be harvested early for cooking
Red, fully ripe fruits are picked later for fresh use, roasting, and drying
Regular picking every 5–7 days encourages continuous flowering and higher yields for 4–6 weeks
