Bermuda Grass is a fast-spreading, hardy lawn grass known for forming a thick, carpet-like green turf. It tolerates heat, drought, and heavy foot traffic, making it ideal for lawns, parks, sports grounds, and open areas in Pakistan.
Its fine texture and bright green color give a premium, golf-course look. Once established, Bermuda spreads quickly and fills empty patches on its own.
Bermuda Grass is a warm-season grass, best grown in summer.
Best Sowing Time in Pakistan:
March to September
Peak germination in April, May, June when soil is warm
Not suitable for extreme winter sowing
In winter it goes dormant (turns light brown) but becomes green again in spring
Use soft, well-drained soil
Remove stones & weeds
Level the ground properly
Mix compost or well-rotted manure for better germination
Mix seeds with fine sand for even spreading
Spread seeds on prepared soil
Lightly rake the surface — do NOT bury seeds deep
Water with a gentle shower to avoid seed displacement
Keep soil moist for 10–14 days until grass sprouts
After establishment, water 2–3 times a week
Avoid over-watering
Requires full sunlight (6–8 hours daily)
Does not grow well in shade
First mowing when grass reaches 2 inches
Keep lawn height low: 1–1.5 inches for best look
Use Nitrogen fertilizer (NPK 24-0-16 or Urea) every 30–45 days in growing season
Avoid fertilizing in winter dormancy
Aerate soil every few months
Remove weeds regularly
Overseed if needed to fill thin patches
