Aster Chinensis Princess Mix is a stunning winter-flowering plant that produces a mix of vibrant, daisy-like blooms in pink, purple, and white shades. These flowers are ideal for garden beds, borders, pots, and balconies. Their bright, long-lasting blooms add charm to winter gardens and are excellent for cut flower arrangements. Asters are hardy, easy to grow, and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Sowing Season (Winter):

  • Optimal Sowing Time in Pakistan: November to December

  • Thrives in cooler winter temperatures and requires full sunlight for optimal flowering.

Growing Instructions:

  1. Soil Preparation:

    • Use well-drained, loose and fertile soil.

    • Add 50% compost and 50% sandy soil (Bhall).

    • Soil pH should be slightly acidic to neutral (6.0 - 7.0).

  2. Sowing Seeds:

    • Sow seeds in seed trays or small pots.

    • Lightly press seeds onto the soil surface; do not cover completely as Aster seeds need light to germinate.

    • Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

  3. Germination:

    • Seeds germinate in 10 - 14 days at temperatures around 15 - 20°C.

    • Maintain moderate humidity for best results.

  4. Transplanting:

    • Once seedlings develop 2 - 3 true leaves, transplant them into pots, beds, or borders.

    • Space plants 20 - 25 cm apart to allow airflow and healthy growth.

  5. Care & Maintenance:

    • Place plants in full sunlight for at least 5 - 6 hours daily.

    • Water moderately; avoid overwatering as asters do not like soggy soil.

    • Fertilize every 3 - 4 weeks with a balanced fertilizer to encourage continuous blooms.

    • Remove faded flowers (deadheading) to prolong flowering.

Additional Tips:

  • Suitable for pots and borders.

  • Excellent for cut flowers and decorative arrangements.

  • Mix of colors adds variety and vibrancy to any winter garden.
