Armenian Cucumber (Cucumis melo var. flexuosus), locally known as ککڑی (تر), is a unique, long, and ribbed cucumber variety cherished for its crisp texture and mild, refreshing flavor. Despite its name, it’s actually a type of melon with a cucumber-like taste and aroma.
These cucumbers are perfect for warm climates, producing abundant yields throughout the summer. The fruits are tender, non-bitter, and ideal for salads, pickling, and fresh eating. This plant is easy to grow and well-suited for home gardens and small farms.
1. Sowing Season:
Sow from spring to early summer (February to June) when the temperature is warm (20–30°C).
2. Soil Preparation:

3. Sowing Depth:

Water regularly but avoid waterlogging. Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during flowering and fruiting.

Requires full sun exposure (6–8 hours daily) for optimal growth.
6. Germination:
Seeds germinate in 7–10 days under warm conditions.

Harvest when fruits are about 10–14 inches long—tender and light green. Avoid over-mature cucumbers for best taste.
