A quick-growing annual climber, with cascades of flowers, starting flame-red at the tip and fading to cream. Ipomoea Lobata, the Fire vine, Firecracker vine or Spanish flag (formerly Mina lobata), is a species of flowering plant in the family Convolvulaceae, native to Mexico and Brazil, but happily grows in all areas of Pakistan. It can climb Upto 5 meter.
It will look spectacular for three to four months, one of the best climbers you can grow. Best for pergola and Gazebo.
Sowing Instructions: Prior to sowing, soak the seed in warm water for 30 minutes. The seeds should swell, plant immediately before the seed dries out. Sow 3mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost.
Flowers: July – October, or 12 weeks from sowing.
Soil: Broad Tolerance
Growing Conditions: Grow under full sun. Keep the soil moist.
Care Tips: Do not overfeed with nitrogen or you will get leaves at the expense of flowers. Seeds are highly toxic if ingested.
